A Note to Our UCC Filing Customers:
In 2013, the Mississippi Legislature passed Senate Bill 2609 which adopted recent model revisions to the Uniform Commercial Code. These revisions affect many different sections of MCA §79-9–102 et seq. most of which pertain to the names and statuses of debtors and secured parties. Minor revisions to the standardized UCC forms will be necessary to comply with the IACA forms which will begin use in many parts of the country on July 1, 2013.
The Mississippi Secretary of State's office will continue to accept all previously approved standard UCC forms through, at least, September 30, 2013. In addition, the online filing process on the Secretary of State's website will remain the same until August 31, 2013. At that time, the online forms will be converted to reflect the new IACA standard form. This should not affect the ability of any of our current customers to file online but will allow them to enter additional information covered under the new UCC revisions.
We encourage you to file UCC documents online, as those filings are immediately posted to our system. If we may be of assistance, please contact our customer service line at 601-359-1633, toll free at 1-800-256-3494. Or, you may also email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you again for your patience as we continue to update our system.

The Mississippi Secretary of State serves as the filing officer for Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) documents which are required under the Uniform Commercial Code, the set of laws governing commercial transactions. These documents include financing statements for manufactured homes, transmitting utilities, farm liens, and other entities.
Administration of UCC filings makes certain commercial transactions possible. Keeping Mississippi UCC laws current with those across the country helps gives lenders and borrowers the security necessary to do business in Mississippi.
