JACKSON, Miss. - Beginning July 1, 2024, per Senate Bill (SB) 2545 and House Bill (HB) 845 passed during the 2024 Legislative Session, the Mississippi Charitable Solicitations Act has been revised to clarify monetary donations and charity filings.

Updates include:

• Defining monetary donations referenced in the Act (MCA § 79-11-501)
• Requiring all financials to be filed for the charity's most recent fiscal year end (MCA § 79-11-507)
