Mississippi Businesses Against Trafficking (MBAT) January 24 Summit Announced

JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson is pleased to announce a Mississippi Businesses Against Trafficking (MBAT) Summit to be held on Friday, January 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the campus of the University of Mississippi.

"Considering January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, it’s quite fitting to host our next in-person summit during this month. We have a great lineup of speakers including a global leader in human trafficking policy and awareness. All are encouraged to attend this free event to learn more about combatting human trafficking in our state," said Secretary Michael Watson.

Anne Basham, the CEO of Ascend Consulting, a human rights advocacy firm, and the Founder of the Interparliamentary Taskforce on Human Trafficking, an international coalition of lawmakers working to end trafficking through policy, will headline the event.
