THE NORTHEAST CORNER 411 TENNESSEE-TOMBIGBEE LOCKS AND DAM Pictured is one of ten locks and dams that make up the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. The locks and dams were completed in twelve years, from 1972 to 1984. The waterway was the first project to be completed under Environmental Protection Act guidelines, and has successfully preserved and maintained 88,000 acres for native wildlife.
